MIMS and 60-3
Oct. 31, 2004

For those of you who did not have the chance to attend the marvelous
presentation I made at the Wing Conference on MIMS and 60-3 you will have
another chance at ES weekend on 13 Nov. 2004.

But at this time I will review the current procedures to get things done.

Everyone who is working on an ES speciality training program should have the
new Speciality Qualification Training Record or SQTR for that Speciality.
101Ts are no longer valid for traininng purposes. 101Ts that were used
prior to 1 Sept 2004 can be used as proof of previous training but the
member must have a filled out SQTR.

When the training is complete and all tasks are signed off on the SQTR then
the data should be entered into MIMS at the Squadron level.

The Squadron Commander, or his designate will then use the SQTR to validate
the data in MIMS. DO NOT VALIDATE THE ENTRY UNLESS ALL TASKS HAVE THE
SUPERVISORS CAPID#, DATE AND/OR MISSION NUMBER. If all the data is not
correct in MIMS when it comes to me for approval, I will kick it back to
Squadron level for correction.

When the data has been validated in MIMS, send me a copy of the SQTR with
any supporting documentation. If items have been transferred from a 101T,
send that also. If it is the first time that individual has gotten a 101
for a speciality that requires a BCUT, ACUT, or First Aid, send me a copy of
their completion CARDS to support that achievement. I need a copy of each
item, but I do not need a copy of CAPF 100.

Once items have been validated at Squadron level be sure and forward the
documents to me. At this time there are about 14 items awaiting my
approval. I do not have any paperwork to base my approval on for any of
those items. I will accept, FAXes, scanned emails (if readable), hand
carried, Wing Mail, or snail mail to my house.

For items like TMP, and Mountain Qualified. Send me a copy of your log book
page that varifies those qualifications.

When a Cadet completes his/her Curry Award, the Squadron must enter this
into MIMS. Then the Cadet can get his/her GES card when they take the CAPT
116.
